“I feel when somebody has been playing cricket for a long time, he creates a separate identity for himself.”

# 1 — Do what you love doing.

The quality of your work depends directly from the passion and joy you put into it. If you love something very much, you will be able to give your absolute best.

# 2 — Everything can be achieved.

While everyone thought it would never be possible for someone to score 100 centuries, Sachin proved everyone wrong. If you are strongly motivated, you can achieve the impossible.

# 3 — There are no shortcuts.

Your confidence will automatically grow if you practice more and thus, your results will show it. Opportunities for taking short cuts do not exist. You have to work hard, in life as well as in sport in order to be a success.

# 4 — Discipline is crucial.

If you want to achieve your goals you also need to be disciplined and keep control of both, your soul and body. Without discipline you might waste your talents.

# 5 — Be dedicated no matter what life throws at you.

The death of his father did not stop Sachin in his pursuit of further success. He showed his dedication by playing cricket again the very next day. Several health issues also did not make him stop from playing this sport.

# 6 — Keep your composure at all times.

You might have noticed that Sachin Tendulkar never made faces on a field for a wrong decision or threw a tantrum. It’s important to always keep your composure by staying calm and not allowing them to provoke you.

# 7 — Stay humble.

Sachin is perceived by his fans as a man who is down to earth. He doesn’t boast about his achievements. He takes care of his fans by giving autographs and talking to them. He would not have to do it, but he does.

# 8 — Be a team player.

He knows about the importance of playing as a team. When it comes to tough situations he has often helped his team in the decision making process. He is surely talented but it’s the team that make it possible to win championships in the end.

# 9 — Be always grateful.

Every time Sachin and his team win, he shows his gratitude by thanking his opponents for the support. Being grateful even for small things can work wonders.

# 10 — Be generous.

Sachin earned a lot of money in his sportive career and he used millions for helping the needy and for making a contribution to other good social causes, e.g. by sponsoring every year 200 underprivileged children. Once you earn a lot of money, don’t just keep it to yourself, try instead to make a difference in other peoples’ lives too. If you are in that lucky position, do it!
