36 Suggestions on Losing Weight the Effective Way

There might be different reasons why you would want to loose some weight. For example, to wear a bikini in summer and look stunning in it, to feel more confident when going out and mingle with others, to fit again into your more tight clothes, to look more amazing in a nice dress, to increase your chances of finding a great partner or to generally feel and be happier with yourself when you look at yourself into a mirror.

If you are determined to do something about your weight gain, consider the following tips:

1) Try to do some exercise on a daily basis. It doesn’t matter what you do, bring some variety into your routine and keep fit.

2) Drink a lot of water. For adults it should be 2 litres a day. Drink more! Drink water as soon as you get up in the morning.

3) When it comes to eating a dessert, choose fruits instead of sweets.

4) When going for shopping, park your car further away so that you are forced to walk more.

5) If you have the option to cycle to work, do so as well.

6) Make sure you get enough hours to sleep.

7) Keep a record of your weight, but don’t do it every day.

8) Limit the amount of salt that you take in.

9) Find ways to minimise your stress.

10.) Spend time in fresh air and do some exercise.

11.) Avoid buying processed food and eating out, instead cook your own meals. Make them freshly and become aware of what you put into your body :-)

12.) When going for grocery shopping, go when you don’t feel hungry. You will end up buying and spending less!

13.) Become a bit more aware of how many calories you consume in a day.

14.) Introduce more meat-free days (unless you are are vegetarian).

15.) Find other ways who are trying to pursue the same goal and remain motivated.

16.) Look for pictures of slim people of your gender and put them all around your house. By looking at them you will remain motivated.

17.) Eat only if you feel really hungry, not because you are bored, stressed or depressed.

18.) Go for long walks during the weekend.

19.) Tell people that you are trying to lose weight. It forces you to commit to your goal even a bit more.

20.) Try to do specific exercises for body parts where you want to loose weight. If you want to burn 1000 calories do 3 sets of the following:

100 x Jumping Jacks

100 x Mountain climbers

100 x crunches

50 x squats

50 x burpees

5 minutes of jump rope

5 minutes of high knees

1 minute of rest

21) Listen to great music while doing your exercises, it will keep you motivated.

22) Fruits that help you lose weight easily are: apples, oranges, raspberries, grapefruits, cantaloupes, pears, pomegranate seeds, peaches, cherries and blueberries.

23) When watching TV do some exercise instead of just sitting on your couch or lying in your bed.

24) Read up stories from people who successfully were able to loose weight and get inspired and motivated.

25) Look for some workout videos on YouTube and see which ones you enjoy doing the most. There is no shortage to choose from!

26) Avoid certain foods or eat them in moderation: white bread, white rice, mayonnaise, candy, red meat, junk food, sweets/cakes/ice-cream etc. Particularly those that are high in carbohydrates and sugars.

27) Eat slowly and always use a small plate to place your food on. This way you will put less food on your place and therefore be tempted to eat less.

28) Avoid alcohol, fizzy drinks and coffee. Instead drink herbal teas if you want some additional alternative to water.

29) Keep fruits all around your house. So, when you feel peckish, you grab the fruit instead of other snacks in your cupboard.

30) If you can, get a dog. He will force you to go out for walks regularly and keep you fit.

31) When on the phone walk around.

32) Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water before you have every meal. It will fill up your belly and make you automatically less hungry.

33) Set up a group of other people whose goal is similar to yours. A group will give you an additional reason to achieve your goal quicker.

34) Tell yourself some positive self affirmations. For example:

  • Losing weight is fun.
  • I am so grateful for the body that I have.
  • I deserve a healthy life.
  • I love to drink water.
  • I am fast approaching my ideal weight.
  • I am in charge of how I feel and look.
  • I choose healthy nutrient rich food.
  • I fell focused and determined.
  • I can and I will.
  • Every day I feel slimmer and lighter.
  • I love being physically fit.
  • I deserve to feel and look healthy.

35) Don’t make any excuses and stick to your goal.

36) Never give up and remind yourself that you can do it!
